Thankfulness Day 13

Today I am thankful for a God who takes away pain. I found out this morning that a family friend of ours, my parents neighbor to be exact, is dying of cancer and has maybe a few months to live. She has a husband and a son who are taking it hard and she, herself, is trying to be strong for her men. I can't imagine. I don't know that she has a personal relationship with Christ but I hope that she does. I know that my parents have been a beautiful example of God to her/them, though.I hope and pray that she, as well as her husband and son, know Christ and take refuge in Him in the hard time. *I* am taking this kind of hard (mainly because I hate cancer and it has taken too many people I know and love) and I can't imagine what it would be like to do this without *Him*. At the same time, I have complete faith in God and I know that He can heal so in this time of hurt and sorrow I will life up my God and praise him for being the Great Physician and Healer.

Thankfulness Day 12

Today I am thankful for family. Many, if not most, of you don't know that my mother's mother, my biological maternal grandmother, was killed, along with my Uncle Mark, in a car accident many many years ago when my mom was 2(?). My mom and my aunt Jeanie were in the car as well and by the grace of God they, along with my Pappy, survived. This past weekend I went to a family reunion on Myrtle's side, the Livingston's. I don't know them super well but I do know that when this family tragedy occurred they were there to help and to this day they have been there since.

Thankfulness Day 11

Today I am SO thankful for our military; both past and present. Freedom is not free and I am blessed enough to live in a country where we know that. This generation may feel like it is and think that it should be but just look at history..it isn't free. I am so thankful for the brave men and women who have stood up to say "I will". My husband being one of those. I have heard the stories and I have never been prouder. God Bless America (please?)!!

Thankfulness Day 10

Today I am thankful for the Navy, itself. I am thankful that if I ever need anything there is someone that I can call that can direct me to someone who can help me.

Thankfulness Day 9

Today I am thankful for my friends; both old and new. As many of us, I have friends who have since left my life either by choice or just by way of life. Some were good. Some were bad. Some I miss. Some I bid farewell. ALL have helped shaped me into the woman that I am today.

Thankfulness Day 8

I am thankful for my church. It took us about a year or so after we moved here to SC to really find a church where we felt at home and knew where we were supposed to be but we finally did and I am so thankful for that. There are so many people who think "I don't need to go to church to go to Heaven" but God commands us to surround ourselves with other believers, with the church, and we should want to not only follow His commandments but want to fellowship with other believers. Sometimes it is not always about what you get out of fellowship but what you contribute to that fellowship. I think that we get so wrapped up in ourselves sometimes that we forget that we can't do it all on our own strength and what better way to be reminded than to have a church fellowship that you can rely on? Mark and I have tried various churches in both Virginia and in South Carolina and I am happy to say that we have been blessed in finding some wonderful congregations and made some wonderful friends. We have seen first hand what God can do when you leave it up to him and follow where he leads.

Thankfulness Day 7

I am thankful for the days that I got to spend with my Biggie. In my book, she was taken from us too soon but I know that in God's book she was brought home at the perfect time. I still miss her to this day and I think of her often. I am thankful that God allowed me to get to know her before He called her home. She was an inspiration to all that she came in contact with and a great example of a mother, wife, and child of God. His love shined through her in all aspects of her life and to this day she still lives on in those of us who knew and loved her. I love you, Biggie, and I will meet you on the Streets of Gold one day. Heidi-Heidi!

Thankfulness Day 6

I am thankful for another day. Another day to love my husband, another day to love my daughters, another day to love my God, and another day to be the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend that I can be.

Thankfulness Day 5

Toady I am thankful for my brothers. We have knocked heads and had our fights and arguments but in the end they are both always there when I need something. We are all in different places, both in life and in the country, but we are never really that far away from each other. When I was younger I remember hoping and praying for a sister but now I see that God knew exactly what He was doing when he told me "No" and gave me two younger brothers.

Thankfulness Day 4

Today I am thankful for my parents. I am pretty biased but my parents are pretty much the greatest. :) They have always been there for me whenever I need them and they continue to do so, both physically and figuratively speaking, even though I have my own family now. God knew what He was doing when he gave my parents to me. I couldn't ask for better parents for myself or better grandparents for my children.

Thankfulness Day 3

Today I am thankful for a Savior who loves me enough to die on the cross for me and save me from my sins so that I, too, may walk with Him along the Streets of Gold one day.

Thankfulness Day 2

Day 2:

Today I am especially thankful for my children; McKenna, McKaela, and Maisie. Each one of them are special and unique in their own way and I cannot imagine life without them. It is unbelievable how much my heart swells with each one. Each girl brings me a special dose of joy that I wouldn't get any other way.

Thankfulness Day 1

I want to start this month with posting one thing that I am thankful for every day. So for November 1st I would like to say...

I am thankful for my husband. He is an amazing husband and a wonderful father and I could not have asked for a better man to spend my life with. God really blessed me tremendously when he brought Mark and I together.
