Pregnancy...so far

So far things have been going very well! I have not had much morning sickness, actually I have only gotten sick twice. The first time was in the morning and I was getting ready to get something to eat and all of the sudden out of no where I just knew it was going to happen and made it to the bathroom. The other time was last week at dinner...ooh man...Mark and I went to Koi Japanese Steak House and we were sitting in a booth, in these booths you have to take off your shoes (which might I add is SO cool!) so anyway we had ordered our food and as soon as it got there we got like 2 bites in and I was like "I don't feel very well at all" so Mark said that we could go ahead and box it up and get the bill. By this time it was pouring rain outside so he was going to go get the truck and bring it around. He had waited on the check to come so that he could tell me how much to leave for a tip and then while the waitress took the check and card back he would pull the truck around. Well she came and brought the check, Mark told me how much to leave, and he was on his way out the door when I said "Wait..." and I took off running to the bathroom. I didn't even put my shoes on. I felt so bad for doing that cause I felt like it kinda jipped the waitress. At the same time though I think she understood. As she was refilling my tea one time Mark and I were talking about Baby so I think that she probably had an idea. But still. So those are my two "morning sickness" stories and neither resulted in much if any "sickness".

By now I have had my first prenatal visit, actually by now I have had more but that is another story I will get to later, and everything is fine. I was anxious for my first visit cause I was like "What if they take the test and then go 'uh...you're not pregnant'!!" haha I know silly me. I knew that I was but still. So I had that appointment on May 7th and at that visit we found out that my personal calculations were on target! I was 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant and my estimated due date is December 20, 2008.

My next appointment was scheduled for May 27th and that was when they were going to do all of the "fun stuff", you know, the pelvic exam and bloodwork and all. All was going well until May 12 when I began spotting. I know that it is normal a lot during pregnancy but it was a little too heavy for my comfort. I was not having any cramps or pains or anything so that was a good sign but still I just didn't feel right. The next day, on the 13th, I called the doctor and they got me right in. They prettymuch did everything at that appointment that they were going to do at the 27th appointment; the pelvic exam, breast exam, and bloodwork....9 VIALS! The doctor told me that everything looked good with my cervix and all and what I had was considered a threatened miscarriage (1 in 5 threatened miscarriages actually result in miscarriage). So for the remainder of my first trimester at least I am on light duty (there are no studies that prove that bedrest really helps in these kinds of situations) so I am not supposed to lift anything over 5-10lbs and although I can still do my housework and shop and all if I do not have to be up than to be laying or sitting with my feet up. I am also not to have sex for the remainder of the first trimester (SORRY FAMILY!! TMI!!). My doctor also wanted to go ahead and schedule an ultrasound to make sure. Another thing that happened at this visit was that my doctor was going to talk to the High Risk doctor to see if I should be considered high risk because of the blood clot that I had last year. I haven't heard back from the doctor about any of my test results (he tested to make sure there wasn't something genetic that cause(s) me to clot) but I am guessing that I will get those results on my next visit.

Today however I had my ultrasound!! It was quick and painless and SO exciting! To see that little peanut and that little flicker of a heartbeat was SO great!! To find the silver lining of a dark cloud (the spotting situation), had I not had this whole situation that I would not even be getting an ultrasound until like week 20!! That was going to drive me crazy!! haha

I think that those are the main things that have been going on lately. It has defintiely been a roller coaster of a week! Happy, scared, anxious, excited, scared...haha

I'll keep you updated for sure!!

Ciao!

Just Thought I'd Blog

Well not too much has been going on really...just life basically. Getting up, taking Mark to work, coming home and going back to sleep for a little bit, get up do some housework, and then go pick him up from work. When we get home he usually gets on the computer and plays WoW for a while and then if we have to run any errands or anything we do that and just finish up the rest of the day. These past few days have been spent at the Truck Dealership attempting to get our truck inspected. The inspection ran out at the end of April and by the time I realized it (I have been kind of consumed lately) it was April 30th. I called and tried to get the truck in that night but they were full so I made an appointment for the next day. SO the next day I pick Mark up from work, he was on duty the previous day, and we headed to the dealership at 1:30p to get the truck inspected. After waiting for about a couple of hours we were informed that the truck needed a new tire but that we should buy 2 BUT they would not be in until the next day so come back the next day, being that we could not leave the truck, and they would get them put on and our state "rejection" sticker taken off. Yes, they rejected our truck because of 1 tire that was not horrible but not great. Once again the very next day we head up to the dealership and they take the truck, we wait around for a couple hours, and then they finally come out and say that the tire place sent the wrong tires so "come back tomorrow" and they would get the tires put on and the "rejection" sticker off. Again, the next day we head up to the dealership, they take the truck, we wait around for a couple of hours, and FINALLY they have the correct tires on and the rejection sticker OFF! Three days and about $450 later we have a sticker that says "05/09".
Mark and I had this conversation in the truck the other day, in all reality state inspections are pretty retarded! I have lived in states that require inspections and one that does not and I must say that I do not get the point in these "inspections" at all. I find them a waste of time and money pretty much. Here is my thinking...all it is is a sticker that says "Your vehicle is approved by the state as safe...for today!" I mean seriously, the newest vehicle can be running perfect one day and the breaks go out the next...or the axel break...or the AC go out...or or or...the list goes on and on. I don't know that these inspections involve checking fluids such as oil but let me tell you that yesterday Mark and I got our "approved" sticker and this morning when Mark started the truck to go to work (he has duty) guess what popped up? "Change Oil" It just went to prove my point once again that just because your vehicle is running perfect one day does NOT mean that it will be the next day.
On another note, apparently 1:30 means something to me or will mean something to me because for the past few weeks everytime I have to schedule a meeting or an appointment the timeslot that is open is 1:30. It all started after I found out that I was pregnant. I called the doctor to make my appointment and the nurse told me that she had a May 7th at 1:30p. Then a week or 2 later I had to set up a meeting with my advisor to schedule my last few classes and the time that he had open was 1:30p. And again, when I called to make the appointment to get the truck inspected the time that they had open was...you got it, 1:30p. Kind of ironic huh? Probably coincidence but still kinda odd.
Things with me have been going well, I still have not been sick any with this pregnancy (woo hoo!) but I have been nauseous. Nauseous and tired are my main symptoms really. There are others such as food aversions, headaches, way sore boobs (that which are growing quite a bit! haha), and such but that is about the extent really. I can't complain! It's only 3 days until my doctors appointment and Mark and I can't wait! The one thing that I really hope they will do that day is an ultrasound and they won't make me have to wait longer and come back. AHH! haha
Well I think that is prettymuch what's going on right now!
Ciao!
