Just Mere Weeks Left!!

Oh my goodness has this pregnancy flown by!! I am down to 5 weeks and some change! That is just insane!! Mark and I have been busy getting everything that we want to get done...done! The biggest thing that we wanted to get done was to get our room cleaned up. Since no one but us has any reason to be in there it has kind of been some extra storage for things that don't really need to be in the garage yet don't have a home yet. I spent all of yesterday cleaning and throwing away and getting it done. There is a little more that I wanted to finish up today but I am not so sure that will happen. I think I worked so hard yesterday that today I just want to play. haha

Well, we went, for a fourth time, to see if McKaela would cooperate and let us get her picture but alas she did not. haha Little Miss has been stubborn with her picture being taken. LOL We do have some really cute ones though and I am just fine with that.

Not too much to report, really. I just wanted to upload a few pictures of Mark's new hobby. I mentioned in in a previous blog and wanted to post those pictures now. They are going to look SO good when he gets done with them all!

Ciao!

Just a Reminder

I started this blog as a way to keep everyone informed about where we are and what is going on in our lives. I realize that it may take me weeks to update at times but, as many of you know and some understand, we are busy and have very different untraditional schedules. I do my best to update when I get the chance but chasing a 1 year old around is a lot of work and getting ready for baby #2 is a lot of work as well. I do my best between this and Facebook to keep everyone "in the loop" per se, but yes, there are times that I am only able to do so much. I realize that not everyone understands the Navy life and schedule and I try and be mindful of that when I update. I do not by any means use that as a crutch to slack on the updating part. If it were easier to update the blog from my phone I might be able to do that more but I like to put a lot of thought and time into the blog so that is why it may be a few steps behind Facebook at times. With all of that being said, I appreciate your patience and understanding. And to those of you who are super patient and understanding and yet still check it out all of the time, YOU ROCK!

Ciao!

Hebrews 10:25 Revisited

I just wanted to blog real quick and add something to what I was talking about a few weeks ago when I originally posted the "Hebrews 10:25" post. If you will remember, in that post I recalled how I was going through a rough time with not feeling like I was getting anything out of the church that I was attending at the time and talked to my mom about it to which she responded that I knew that was where I was supposed to be, I already knew that, and although I felt like I was in a slump I should still go because I never knew who was watching me and who I was encouraging without even knowing it. Well this last Sunday McKenna and I got up and got dressed and went to church, as we have been doing since we found this church out here. We got there and I took McKenna to class and I went to Sunday School myself. They were finish up the prayer time when I got there so I waited to go in until the praying was finished and then I walked in and took my seat at the back. The lesson was good; we are going over the beatitudes. After Sunday School was over I was sitting there just kind of waiting around for church to start and the Sunday School leader comes up to me and says hi and he was glad to see me and, get this, are you ready?  He said, "It encourages me so much to see you here every week." What?! I come in a little late every week (not bad but usually after I drop McKenna and off and all they are finishing up the prayer), I am new to the church, and yet I encourage him just by showing up? Mind you, he doesn't KNOW know me and he has not read this blog. I guess my mom was right; sometimes all you have to do is show up to encourage someone and you may not even know it!

With all that being said, I want to end with the verse, Hebrews 10:25, and remind you that sometimes we all need to step back and instead of going to church with the mindset of "Speak to me, God", we need to go to with the mindset "Speak through me, God"; because He can, and will, use you in a way that you are least expecting at a time that you are least expecting...and sometimes you don't even have to say a word. Take it from me, you can be used even being new and not always on time. *smile*

Hebrews 10:25 - Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Pictures

Not too much has gone on, really; things have finally slowed down a bit. Allergies are not fun and although McKenna and I are *better*, we are both still having a time with them.

McKenna has been a little spoiled lately in that she has gotten a few big toys lately. haha Mark and I are very much "Craigslist shoppers", tell me to find a deal, give me a little time, and I will find it! LOL Anyway, a lady on Craigslist was selling 2 slides for $25; one of them was a climber slide and the other was one of those Fisher-Price single slides. I had been looking for a slide for McKenna for a while so I went and bought that. Another thing that I found was a Power Wheels Barbie Jeep...$20!! Absolutely nothing wrong with it other than a little sun-fading and it was being sold without the battery. Not a big deal at all! Hence to say, I went out and picked that up too. THEN...LOL...Mark found a big Disney Princess dollhouse/castle and wanted to get that for her so I went and got that. It was like, $40? A little pricier but considering if you get it new it's at least $90, not too bad. So all this to say that she has had a time with her new toys. We have not gotten a battery for the Power Wheels yet but she likes to get in it and play. She even was taking cans of Coke and Raviolis and putting them in her jeep; I guess she was going shopping. LOL

I should say that Mark, too, has gotten some new toys lately too. Yesterday we went and picked him up a whole weight set; well, I think we are missing like the 80, 105, 110 pound dumbbells but still! They are a pretty reputable brand as well so what we got and what we paid for them...not bad at all. Yes, those were off of Craigslist too. LOL

We took Bailey and Roxie to get their teeth cleaned on Tuesday. Yes, you read that right, we took our dogs to get their teeth cleaned. We even have them on a medical plan. LOL No lie. Yeah, our dogs are pretty spoiled too, I guess you could say. haha You would not believe the process to do a teeth cleaning on dogs!! They have to do blood work adn put them completely under anestesia; as the nurse put is, since dogs can't hold their mouths open and spit on command. LOL Can you imagine?? LOL So that was a process, they did very well though and got a clean bill of health! Roxie had also split a toenail, which we thought she had split all the way down but turns out it wasn't as far as we thought *whew*, that they took care of. We will take them back in 2 weeks for a check up just to make sure that their teeth still look good and Roxie's nail healed nicely and all.

I guess that is prettymuch all that has gone on, really. Just day to day stuff, more or less. I will add some pictures from Easter and of the garden and all. That was the main reason for this entry. *smile*

Busy Busy Busy!

Oh my goodness, March FLEW BY!! Three weeks ago Eric and his friend, Tyler, came to visit on their way back to Boiling Springs from Spring Break and that was a lot of fun. We went downtown and ate lunch, went to the aquarium, and they just did their own things meeting up with friends and all. It was a lot of fun! The weekend after that my parents came up and that, too, was a lot of fun! We didn't necessarily DO anything but we had a lot of fun! We did go to the outlet mall and shop a little. Also, it was my birthday which was wonderful, by the way!!

When Mark left for work Friday morning, the day before my birthday, he said it was probably going to be a long day; which I had already expected so it wasn't shocking. That afternoon as I was cleaning and getting ready for my parents to arrive I hear the door open and in walks Mark!!! He was home early...and with presents!! He had me close my eyes and handed me something which turned out to be a bouquet of beautiful lilies! Then he haned me a little bag and inside it was a Dooney and Bourke wallet that I had eyed! I was SO surprised!! Earlier that day the bedding for my Moses basket had come in the mail along with a beautiful homemade sling that my aunt had made me! The next day was my actual birthday and mom and daddy got me a Barbie t-shirt and....ready??....a CHI!! I have wanted a Chi for, like, EVER!!! All in all, it was a WONERFUL birthday!!

The next week was ok. McKenna and I wound up getting sick and that was no fun. Since everything bloomed and there was pollen EVERYWHERE it hit us hard. I am not sure if it was allergies, as I thought at first, or a cold, since it is still hanging around, but it was/is not fun at all.

That Monday I had an ultrasound and doctors' appointment and both went great! I now go to the doctors' every 2 weeks. What?! Already?! I know. haha

Another BIG thing this week was that Mark and I finished up McKenna's big girl room and moved her over there. Mark and I decided that since McKenna was already having bad nights since she was sick and not sleeping well and woun up in our bed every night that there was no better time to move her. If it was going to be a bad night anyway than we might as well go ahead and try...it worked SO much better than we expected! She LOVED it and she slept ALL night!!! We expected maybe a little resistance or something being that it was new and all but she absolutely adores her new room and bed and has slept SO much better than she pretty much ever did in her crib!! Our little girl is growing up so fast!! She is such a big girl!!

Bring us to Thursday...my mother-in-law came into town and took me shopping for flowers and things to spruce up the front yard!! Mark and I finally finished it today and it looks SO good!! This past Friday McKenna went to her first Easter egg hunt at her gym. She had a blast! It took her a few minutes to realize what she was supposed to do but once she did she was all over it! She went in and foun 2 eggs and then went to the mat
and sat down to look at and play with them. haha Once Mark and I showed her what she was supposed to do she got her 8 eggs and then went back and sat down with them. Some people are so greedy though. They asked us to only find 8 eggs per child so that everyone had a chance to hunt eggs...well, some of those parents allowed their children to get full baskets! I mean, 20-30 eggs easily! The hunt started at 4pm for the younger children and then the older ones came later so there was going to be a lot of kids before the night was over! Well, anyway, McKenna found her 8 eggs and then we went and opened them all and ate a little candy an had a good time. There was no reason to be greedy.

After the egg hunt Mark went and saw "Clash of the Titans" and Margie too McKenna and I to get peicures. Yes, you read that right, McKenna AND I. McKenna got her first pedi this past weekend! Start 'em early, that's what I say. haha She loved it though. She still likes to look own at her pretty purple toenails. *smile*
The weekend really was a great one. Busy but great! Mark was off all weekend so that was very nice! We all got some sun from working out in the yard/garden all weekend. Early start on tans!! LOL

Today, Monday, we went and got a 3D ultrasound done so we could see McKaela. It was fun, however, we didn't get great pictures; she was asleep at first and hiding and she had her little hand up in front of her face. Man oh man. We were able to get her to wake up and get a few good pictures but apparently she was not too happy; she flipped us the bird and then smiled. LOL It was so funny! Teach us to wake her up for pictures! LOL The tech said that we could come back next week and try to get some more good pictures.

Well, it is late so I better get to bed. I don't have all of the pictures from the egg hunt and of the yard uploaded yet but I will get those up soon.

Ciao!
