What a Month!!

Well McKenna and I have made it to Jacksonville, Florida. My parents drove up to Virginia and helped me finish painting the house and all that good stuff and then we began our drive down to Florida. It took us 15 hours but that is including 3 hours of sleep and feeding times for McKenna so all in all we made really good time! McKenna did SO good! I am so proud of her! She really slept like the entire time! If she wasn't sleeping she was content. The only times that she cried was when she got hungry or when she just needed to get our and stretch and those times always occurred when we needed to stop and fill up the trucks or when we stopped and slept. The time that we stopped and slept I took McKenna out and fed her and then laid her on my chest (I was stretched across the front seat of the truck) and we both slept. She was amazing!

We got here in Sunday and were all worn out so we pretty much slept all day! Not too much has really gone on this week. After all of the craziness of getting the house ready to sell and getting ready for deployment and all it has been so nice to just not have anything to do. After this weekend I suppose I will stop being so lazy. haha I don't really have too much to relay but I wanted to update and post some pictures of our house. I don't have any picture of it with carpet but I hope that my realor will take some and send them to me. I am just curious to see what the new carpet looks like in the house! It was so weird having all of our stuff out of the house and yet still living there. Everything was pretty much gone except for some plastic tubs with clothes and stuff that needed to be kept out of storage and McKenna's stuff; Mark and I slept on a matress on the floor. Speaking of the floor, there was no carpet because we tore it all up. When Mark and I went to buy new carpet and all we got it for $.99 a sq. foot with a free pad and free installation, HOWEVER, they wanted $3.50 a sq. foot to rip it up! Mark and I decided that we could and would do that ourselves. Seriously, $3.50 to tear it up? I don't think so. So that was fun and if I learned anything it all it was that I do not want carpet in my next house! It was SO dirty and nasty under there!! Wow! I was shocked!

My grandparents came into town to see McKenna and that has been a lot of fun! I had not seen them in a while so it has been a lot of fun having them here!

Well it is late and I think that I am going to get ready for bed.

Ciao!

Ok so in case you have forgotten or did not know, Mark and I got orders about 2 weeks ago now I guess it was to Charleston, South Carolina; Mark is also deploying tomorrow as well. SO for the past two weeks we have put the house on the market, been researching houses in SC, getting the movers all set up to come in and pack, getting the house ready to sell, etc. I have not had time to take pictures muchless update the blog so bare with me here. I am going to post some pictures right now before I get back to painting the house to hopefully tide ya'll over until I can get back on a regular blogging schedule. Patience is a virtue!

Busy Busy Bees!

Well here we are down to the last week in our house. The movers will be here on Wednesday to pack everything up and take it to storage. My parents will be here on Friday to help me take down everything that I am keeping (i.e. clothes and such) and I am so thankful for them!!! I am not really keeping a bunch out of storage, only things I will need, but to try and get it all packed into the truck, both dogs, McKenna, AND drive for 9 hours was going to be OMG crazy!!! When I asked my parents though if they would mind coming and helping me they jumped at the chance...of course I am sure it is more to see McKenna but you know, I can handle that. hahaha

On Monday McKenna is staying with her first babysitter...WHAT?! I know. This lady from our church has been so excited to spend time with and bond with McKenna that I could not take that away from her so before we move, eventhough we will probably wind up back up here in a few years, and before Mark leaves for deployment he and I are going to go out to dinner or go to a movie (probably wind up being a movie) and McKenna is staying with Mrs. Eileen. It should be a good time but of course being the first time that I will have left McKenna anywhere, even in nursery at church, my insides are shaking. haha It'll be fun though.

I think that everyone should have gotten their birth announcements by now. I hope that I did not forget anyone. I did design the announcements myself and I think that they turned out perfectly!! Just in case I did forget anyone, I will scan and post it up here so that you can see it. They were a little late getting out but with the holidays and then Mark being out to sea and all, it is not easy to just step away from a newborn, muchless jump in the truck to go up to the store. Better late than never, that's what I always say.

Ok well I better get back to packing. I am trying to make a good dent in things before Mark gets home tomorrow. We have a bunch to do still so whatever I can get done by myself only helps!

Ciao!

Orders Have Arrived

I know, it's been a while since I have blogged things have been super crazy!! So deployment is coming up soon and we still did not have orders as to where we were going for shore duty after Mark got back from deployment. I was just prepared to stay here in Virginia for another year, which ok that's fine whatever. haha Well come Thursday we find out we are moving to Charleston, South Carolina! That is where our orders are to. Mark and I automatically begin to start trying to figure out how to sell the house here in Virginia and pack everything up and get me moved to Jacksonville...all the while not knowing exactly what was going on. We got in touch with a realtor on Friday and put the house on the market. In fact, in our front yard as I type this there is a "For Sale" sign up. AAHH!!! Mark is still going to go on deployment but he will only make like a month/month and a half of it and then he will come home and we will report right to Charleston. We are trying to get the movers here before he leaves and everything set so that after he leaves I can pack up the truck (and probably a U-Haul trailer), the dogs, and McKenna and head on down to Jacksonville where I will be living with my parents until Mark gets back. While he is gone we will be looking for a house in Charleston; go ahead and get a realtor and be in touch with them and all that stuff. How exciting is all of this?! haha For real, it is exciting but it is also a bit stressful because since we just found out 3 days ago what is going on and order officially came in yesterday we are having to cram all of this into just a few short weeks. Luckily my wonderful parents and fabulous mother-in-law have told me to just let them know if I need anything and they are more than willing to fly up and help me. *whew* Definitely keeping THAT in mind and my finger on speed-dial....just in case.

Nothing else too much has been going on. Mark and I are just spending as much time together and with McKenna as possible before deployment. McKenna is growing like a weed!!! She will be 2 months old on Wednesday and I cannot believe it!! She is awesome though!! She smiles all of the time and coos and "talks". Mark and I are seriously so blessed!!

Well there really is not much going on other than what I have already stated so I guess I shall get back to my book. Once I finish this book I don't know what I will read!! I will feel so lost!! So far in just the past month I have read 3.5 novels (this one I am reading now will make it 4.5) so I won't know what to do with myself after I finish this one! Oh yes, let me explain the .5, the .5 comes from the fact that I was in the middle of one novel when Mark got home with the 3 I had been waiting on so I stopped what I was reading and picked up what I was waiting on...LOL I never do that, I always finish one before I start another but I was so excited for the other ones that I made an exception...haha

Ok back to reading!!
