Home Sweet Home

We have been home for a couple of days now but...a wife/mother's work is never done; we got home on Sunday and went to the grocery store that same day, an hour or so later. I got straight to work in getting things put up and all (though it is not done yet) and shopping and...goodness. I woke up this morning, today was Little Gym day, and I felt as though I had not slept at all so we slept in. Yes, I feel bad, but anyway, we made it home!! We had a good time but it was like I walked in the door and my body went "aaaahhhh". It was INCREDIBLE!

Both girls grew so much on this trip, the last day or so in Round Rock we really got to see; McKenna was talking UP. A. STORM. McKaela learned to keep her paci in her mouth. It was an amazing last few days!

Anyway, it is late but I wanted to update real quick and let you all know that we are home. If I think of anything more from the trip I will post later.

Ciao!

Road Trip - Not TOO Much Further!

That is basically what I see when I look out the window...no, its not a fireball, it is just the sun coming up. Crazy, huh?

We passed another bad wreck in Georgia. This one we didn't actually see but they closed down a part of I-20 and re-routed everyone. However, on our detour we believe that we saw the car, or one of them at least, on the back of a tow truck and if it were, in fact part of or THE reason for the closure than it was pretty bad because that car was all messed up.

Things are going pretty smooth now and I believe that we have 3.5-4 hours left. We're getting there!!

Road Trip - Homeward Bound

Well, we are in Louisiana, it is 11:27pm and all in all it has been a good trip. Both girls are asleep again so that is nice. I know that I should be trying to sleep but...I don't know. I kind of feel bad sleeping when Mark is driving. I know that he slept all day in order to drive but...still. I don't know, I do.

We have seen two pretty bad wrecks so far. Not like seen them happen but one we did see right after, the only emergency vehicles there were the firetrucks. That wreck was a car fire; all that was left was a frame I think Mark said. The other wreck must have been really bad as well because they closed the road. Luckily, we were going the opposite direction. Craziness!

Well ok maybe I will see if I can fall asleep. Not that I want to leave Mark awake but I am fading fast.

Road Trip - Headed home

We are finally headed home! I can hear my dogs and my bed calling me...the thing with that, however, is that being that we should get home tomorrow morning I will not get to succumb to my bed until tomorrow night. *yawn*

Anyway, we spent the last two days in Round Rock and had a blast! We got into town at dinner time on Thursday and ate dinner and visited and relaxed. The next day we really just hung out and visited. Aunt Jeanie, the girls, and I went to Hobby Lobby to get some headbands and then up to the church to show off the babies. That night Uncle Tim and Aunt Rhonda and Rebecca came over for dinner. It was good to see them. It had been quite a few years, actually. Then today, while Mark slept so he could drive today/night, Aunt Jeanie, the girls, and I went to HEB to get a few things and then to the park to feed the ducks. Mark woke up about 2-230 and we loaded up and left.

In the short amount of time that we were in Round Rock McKenna started talking even more! Some things she has said now and then she is saying more often and other things she has not said before; please, thank you, Jeanie, Mimi, shoot (my bad...Haha), just to name a few.

I forgot to add this is my last post but the morning before we left FW for Round Rock the girls and I were talking to Aunt Judy before she left for work and after she left I asked McKenna if she could say "Aunt Judy". This is how it went...

Me: Can you say Aunt?
McKenna: Aunt
Me: Judy
McKenna: Juby

Haha It was super cute!

Anyway, we had a good time in Round Rock but I will be glad to get home and back on schedule. Right now, both girls are sleeping and Mark and I are listening to Harry Potter. I wish I was sleeping but I am navigator. Sleep? Who needs sleep? I'm a mom! ;)

Road Trip - Hellllllooo DFW!!

Well, we said goodbye to OKC and hello to DFW on the 5th. That night all of my cousins and aunt and uncles came over so we were all able to visit. It was so nice! I have not been home to see everyone in...gosh, at least 2 years? Last time we came through it was only for a couple of hours so it doesn't really count. We didn't get to see hardly anyone at all. So this was a much needed trip home.

Yesterday Mark and the girls and I went and picked up Amanda and we all went to The State Fair of Texas!!! I will say that I didn't get the whole "fair feeling" but I think it was because...I don't know, really. Haha It was fun seeing all of the animals though! We saw a sow that had just had piglets and a pot-bellied put who just had piglets. Talk about cuteness!!!

After the fair Aunt Judy and Uncle Jim took us out to dinner to a real good Mexican restaurant. Yum!! It was nice to get to spend time with them.

Today is our last morning in FW before heading to Round Rock this afternoon; we are going to take Amanda out to Olive Garden for her birthday lunch and then we are headed to Round Rock. Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Karl get in from Africa at noon so we are going over to Mimi and Pappy's while they sleep some.

Well I better go finish getting ready so we can get on the road.

Road Trip - Transmission

I forgot to update yesterday but we got our SUV back! They had to completely rebuild the transmission...Oy...BUT it is still under warranty so we didn't have to pay a thing. *whew* It is amazing how much better it runs! Haha I didn't realize how off the car was until we got it fixed and then it hit me, "it runs so much better!" LOL

We have now said goodbye to OKC and are on our way to say hello to DFW! It has been a good road trip but I feel like I have been away from home for SO LONG! I am starting to get ready to just get home. And I miss my dogs.

Well, back to keeping an eye out for a Jack in the Box!

Road Trip - Car Trouble

Ever noticed that whenever you go on vacation that is the time that your car breaks down? That is what happened to our Escape. At times during the trip it was almost like we were stepping on the gas while in neutral...not cool. Anyway, we took it into the dealership and they are fixing it and it will hopefully be done by Monday night. *crosses fingers*
