Your 100 Day Prayer - John Snyder

I am a member of BookSneeze.com which gives you new books in exchange for your reviews on them. This book was one that I chose to review.

At first I was not sure what I was going to get from this book but I felt like I needed to request it. I also felt that I needed to request it as a physical book as opposed to an e-book. I am SO glad that I did!! "Your 100 Day Prayer" is broken up into more of a devotional for every day life as opposed to just a book to read in one sitting. It helps you to slow down and to focus on that one specific request that you have. So many times we have so many requests that we don't really focus on each one for any specific amount of time; this book helps you to slow down and see each request for what it is and each request as its own. This book is going to help you pin point those requests which you know you have, you throw out there at last minute, and those that you don't even realize that you need to be praying for. It will help you to be encouraged in your prayer life as it is, challenge you to step up in your prayer life as it is, and it will reveal to you where you need to be in your prayer life at this very moment.

My Little Houdini

Ok, let me just preface this saying that we have a baby gate at McKaela's door so that she can't get out and fall down the stairs or anything at night. I close it every single night. On the nights that I do not close it personally I always check it. Not to mention, she can't get it open. It is one of those that you have to push both buttons and down and then open. My three year old can't even get it open. We also have a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs so that she can't go up without our knowledge. This one stays open most of the time. Especially at night so that my 3 year old can come down and climb in bed with us. This one is one that you have to push both buttons and slide back and then open. Again, neither girl can get it open.
Now onto the story..
Last night I closed the gate after she had gone to bed and made sure that it was latched, might I add, and went to bed. I woke up this morning to my 3 year old crying because the gate at the bottom of the stairs was closed. Odd, I know that I didn't close it when I went to bed. I come out of my room and who do I about run over? Yep, McKaela! I have NO clue how she got out of her room. Did she get the gate open by shaking it? It has never worked before. Did she pull her little chair over to the gate and climb over? She must have fallen, apparently not hurt but still! I have NO IDEA how she got out. She never has before. She usually just plays or calls for me in the monitor. I am baffled.

God and Santa

I lost my temper with my oldest tonight and was apologizing to her and after she pointed out all of my faults, as only a child can, she said "God doesn't like that. And Santa doesn't like that. God and Santa don't like that, Mommy." At that moment I realized...my 3 year old is right. I felt like crap but it was her that brought me back to earth in that children are THE most precious gift that we could ever receive and even In those times that they drive us crazy, they are precious and (within reason, of course) they are doing what they are supposed to.....be children! God created children to be the closest to Him as we can; and Santa, in the same way, loves each child, good and bad. So tonight when I lost my temper, yes, God and Santa were very disappointed. Sometimes all it takes is a 3 year old to bring you back down to earth.
